These are the stories that make me who I am. When I write about things that are current, it is the truth. When I write about my past, I am writing about my truth as I remember it. I would like to say it is the absolute truth, but I do not have anyone still alive with whom I can reminisce or who can tell me, “That is your memory, but it really happened like this.”
My stories are at times unbelievable, and I have had experts tell me that the things I have lived through are not possible. But I am not delusional; these things did happen to me. If I get some things wrong due to over or underestimating or exaggeration from trauma or time, please forgive me, and I will correct it as I learn about it. These are my stories.
